Only 25% of schoolgirls in Uganda stay in school, compared to 33% of boys, due to challenges like inadequate menstrual hygiene management (Naomi Lumutenga et al, 2022). Many girls miss up to 15 school days per term because they lack access to safe menstrual products.
We distributed 2,000 packs of re-usable sanitary pads to 500 underserved school girls & 200 women from 21 community schools & 3 villages in 4 districts of eastern Uganda. Our reusable pads distribution aims to bridge this gap, keeping girls in school and healthy.
